　“Closeness Ensemble of Kyoto”沢田穣治が思い描いてきたECMをマイルストーンにした表現の到達点でもあります。京都に移住した頃、「規格外の音楽家」として雑誌に取り上げていただく機会がありそれ以後キーワードにしております。「規格外」その始まりは少年時代に開催された万博での体験がわたくし沢田の人間形成の原点になっています。武満徹氏の音楽と出会い、バシェ音響彫刻と出会い、岡本太郎氏の太陽の塔と出会い、世界の現代音楽と出会い、民族音楽と出会い、出会いをあげれば枚挙に遑がありません当時の体験が今思えば垣根なく表現をする「規格外」の所以、未知の物への想像の出発点になったと思います。その後、より自由であり静寂でありシンプルである美しい音楽、弊社レーベル名にもなったUnknown Silenceな音楽との出会いがありました。それは西ドイツミュンヘン発信のECMというレーベルでした。いままで自分が求め溜めていたものが一気に噴出されるが如く毎回発信される音楽に心酔しました。音楽的な魅力とともに録音されたアルバムの一貫したコンセプト、独特のECMサウンドに嵌っていきました。その青年期に培った音楽感からか、以来、多種多様な音楽に魅せられ制作させていただける機会を沢山頂くようになり、気がつけば自分自身がカテゴライズできない音楽家になっていることに気づいた訳でもあります（笑。

さて“Closeness Ensemble of Kyoto”に関してお話を戻します。長きに渡り音楽に関わり世界に発信でき得る日本ならではの音楽は何なのかと模索し続けてきました。もちろんショーロクラブ の活動は今もその最たるものでありますが、若き日に出会ったECMの音楽をマイルストーンとするヴィジョン、それが何と京都に移住したことにより全ての要素が重なり結実しました。それは琵琶湖を臨むstudio BOSCOにて映像音楽の制作に集まった音楽家(高木正勝 pf 、馬場孝喜 g 、渡辺亮 perc 、沢田穣治 cb)により生まれた“Closeness Ensemble of Kyoto”であります。
スタジオ主宰のエンジニア森崇氏の音の役割も多大で思い描き求めてきたサイレンスな音楽を発信出来るアンサンブルが誕生いたしました。“Closeness Ensemble of Kyoto” 「WaBaSaTa II」耳を澄ましそっと気持ちを添えて聴いていただければです。

Closeness Ensemble of Kyoto
As a milestone, this is the goal of the expression that Jyoji Sawada envisioned with ECM.
When I moved to Kyoto, I had the opportunity to be featured in magazines as a "nonstandard musician," and I have used it as a keyword since then.
“Nonstandard”
At the beginning, my childhood experience at the Expo was the origin of my character building. I met Toru Takemitsu's music, Bache sound sculpture, Taro Okamoto's Tower of the Sun, contemporary music in the world, and folk music.
I have experienced so many encounters. I think that the experience at that time was the reason for "out of the standard" that expresses without barriers. I think that was the starting point for the imagination of the unknown.
After that, I met more free, quiet, simple and beautiful music, "Unknown Silence" like music that became the name of our label. It was a label called ECM from Munich, West Germany. It seems that what I have accumulated until now is blown out at once. I was fascinated by the music that was sent each time. The album with a consistent concept was recorded with musical appeal and I got into a unique ECM sound.

With the music feeling cultivated in my youth since then, I have been given many opportunities to be attracted to and produce a wide variety of music. I then realized that I became a musician who could not categorize. lol
Now back to the Closeness Ensemble of Kyoto.
I have been involved in music for a long time and I have been searching for the music that is unique to Japan, the music that can be sent to the world.
Of course, Choro Club's activities are still the best.
However, as a milestone, the vision of ECM music that I met on a young day and all the elements overlapped and resulted in fruit when I moved to Kyoto.
It is the Closeness Ensemble of Kyoto born by MasakatsuTakagi pf, Takyoshi Baba g, Ryo Watanabe perc, Jyoji Sawada cb. These musicians gathered at a studio BOSCO overlooking Lake Biwa, for video music production.
Takashi Mori, the engineer of the studio, also plays a huge role in the sound.
Due to that, we have created an ensemble that can transmit the silence music that I have envisioned.
